"PDSA" facts
If your pet was in pain, you’d do everything you could to make him better. But what if you couldn’t afford to pay for a vet? You’d take him to PDSA.
PDSA was set up in 1917 to provide free veterinary care for the sick and injured animals of people in need. Today, as the UK’s leading veterinary charity, PDSA is a vital lifeline to sick and injured pets that might otherwise not receive the treatment they so desperately need. Without us, many vulnerable people would face the heartbreak of losing their companion. They rely on us ... and we rely on you, people who love animals as much as we do.
- £12 could pay for an x-ray
- £15 could pay for surgical forceps
- £50 could pay for vital medicines
- £150 could pay for life-saving surgery
If you love pets, please help us care for every pet that needs us – because your gift really could save a life ...
By making a regular gift and becoming a PDSA Best Friend, you’ll help us treat sick and injured pets every working day of the year. From as little as £3 a month – that’s just one penny a day – you could make a world of difference to sick and injured pets across the UK.
And, when you become a Best Friend, we like to say thank you. So, you’ll receive a special Welcome Pack and Companions magazine, full of fascinating pet features and photographs, delivered to your door four times a year.
PDSA
Founded in 1917, PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity, caring for more than 300,000 pet patients belonging to people in need. We help thousands of sick and injured pets every day (many are in a critical state) & provide free veterinary treatment to sick and injured animals. We also promote responsible pet ownership.
PDSA receives no funding from HM Government or the National Lottery for our PetAid services. So we rely entirely on the generous support of pet lovers to treat pets who need us.
You can help PDSA help sick and injured animals in a host of different ways. Your time, talents, skills and donations are invaluable and always very much appreciated.

Animal Sponsorship
This year we will provide over 1.8 million free treatments to sick and injured pets. Right now, we have a special group of patients who have long-term illnesses and are in desperate need of help. We are looking for kind people to sponsor these pets better.
